itSMF Trademark Agreement

On 31st July 2009 the Boards of itSMF International and itSMF UK signed the itSMF trademark agreement document.

As you are aware, the itSMF UK and itSMF International Boards of Management have been negotiating the terms for the acquisition of the itSMF trademark brand. This negotiation follows a motion carried at the November 2007 AGM to undertake this action and secure the International ownership of the movement brand and manage its protection, recognition and future growth.

Call for volunteers for New itSMF International Chapter Development Committee

The itSMF International Board is seeking volunteers from the itSMF community to serve on the now-forming "itSMF International Chapter Development and Support Committee" (iDaSC), initially to be chaired by Ken Wendle, Director of Chapter Services.

This committee will be responsible for, among other things, the following tasks:

itSMFI Chapter Meeting/Agenda - 11 September 2008 - San Francisco

The next itSMFI Regional Chapter meeting is taking place on Thursday 11th September in San Francisco, USA and will commence at 9.00am (PDT) at the Intercontinental hotel, 88 Howard Street, San Francisco, CA 94103.

This is the day after the itSMF USA Conference finishes in San Francisco.

For those Chapters unable to attend in person, the tele-conference facility will be used.

The participation code is 597241# and the current range of telephone numbers is attached.

itSMF Journal

The itSMF International will be publishing a research journal for the IT Service Management community. The journal will provide an independent platform for the publication, and debate, of original, high quality, peer-reviewed research into aspects of IT Service Management. In time it is hoped that the journal will be in a position to suggest and sponsor lines of enquiry for research and keep a register of research in progress.

itSMF International hosts first International Open Virtual Chapter meeting to positive Chapter feedback

June 16th, 2008 marked a new direction for the International Executive Board of itSMFI. Committed to open, transparent Board operations, the IEB hosted the inaugural virtual meeting, open to all itSMF Chapters. The 2008/2009 IEB is working hard to ensure that we provide formal mechanisms that encourage Chapters to interact with their executive board of directors on a regular basis, rather than only at the AGM held every fall.

itSMF International Chair Communication - May 2008

Since my last communication to Chapters, a lot has been happening on the IEB. In early April, the IEB held a two day meeting to solidify the deliverables for each Director Service Portfolio and to confirm our common understanding of the purpose, objectives and role the itSMFI plays in the industry. Without question, the primary purpose for our existence is to serve Chapter interests and to lead global initiatives that all Chapters and their members derive benefit from.

itSMF Chapter Leadership Conference announced

The itSMF International is exited to announce plans for the first itSMF Chapter Leadership Conference (CLC) in November 2008.

True to the spirit of the itSMF to share knowledge, experience and leadership, the itSMFI is committed to providing a forum for Chapters to grow, prosper and learn from each other. A successful Chapter anywhere benefits us all.

The continued growth of emerging and new Chapters, offers us the opportunity to share the benefits of experience from existing Chapters who have created “itSMF Chapter best practices” in Chapter management.
