New Accredited ITIL Examination Institute: CERT-IT

The APM Group, Official Accreditor of the ITIL Qualification Scheme, has announced that Cert-IT, based in Germany, been accredited as ITIL Examination Institute. The APM Group's role as OGC's Official Accreditor for the ITIL Qualification scheme, allows it to license Examination Institutes to administer ITIL qualification and accreditation activities.

Sallie Kennedy - Governance, Brand definition & management

Sallie KennedySallie Kennedy is currently the CFO for a national accreditation organization, one of ten such bodies in the US. Technology falls in her reporting chain. For about a year prior to her current position Sallie was a Senior Consultant for Plexent focusing primarily on the areas of IT Governance and Organizational Change.

Overview of complementary qualifications

A number of complementary qualifications are now available and the number is increasing. All of these are given credits in the ITIL® V3 qualification scheme.

itSMF International Whitepaper competition winner receives award

itSMF International's inaugural winner of the International Whitepaper competition received his award and trophy at this month's itSMF UK conference awards dinner.

Ian Macdonald, a Senior IT Specialist at The Co-Operative Financial Services, collected the award at the event in London on the 8th November from the itSMF International Chairman David Cannon. David commented "We're very pleased to be able to commend the excellent work of itSMF members around the world with this fantastic competition, and in particular Ian's whitepaper which demonstrates the real value that itSMF and our members can deliver."

itSMF Norway 2011 Conference - Heal the World - with ITIL - Call for Sponsors & Exhibitors

The itSMF AGM and Chapter Meeting in Kuala Lumpur was a great success.

Much of value was achieved and an excellent spirit of cooperation, collaboration and good will prevailed. Though it was not possible for all European chapter heads to make the meeting, it was, nevertheless, an important recognition of the huge Asian market for Service Management that it was held in Malaysia.

itSMF International Full board appoints 4 new Directors to the Executive board

The itSMF International AGM on the 16th October 2010 appointed Alejandro Debenedet (Argentina), Hon P Suen (Hong Kong), Sallie Kennedy (USA) and Ulf Myrberg (Sweden) as Directors on the Executive Board

These new Directors join the existing Directors, David Cannon, Marianna Billington and Michael Kum on the board and the new board takes over on the 1st January 2011. David and the current board extend their congratulations and welcome to the new Directors. The AGM thanked the outgoing Directors for their hard work over the previous year.

itSMF ISO/IEC20000 Scheme transferred to APMG

The itSMF-UK has transferred the itSMF ISO20000 scheme to APMG. This move will strengthen the excellent scheme globally, building on the itSMF UK's success in building and supporting this valuable Service Management standard.

priSM® discussed at the itSMF Chapter Conference in Kuala Lumpur

priSM® (Professional Recognition for IT Service Management) was discussed at the itSMF Chapter Conference in Kuala Lumpur today (16th October 2010).

The programme is doing well with its pilot in the US. Plans for the roll-out to the Nordic Countries, Australia and the UK are well advanced. Once these international roll-outs have been successful, the lessons learned will be applied to the general roll-out, due to start in the second quarter 2011.

The itSMF 2010 global survey results have been collated. These have been sent to all those who contributed and to all itSMF chapters.

The results are generally encouraging, showing that, despite the current climate, Service Management is delivering effective results.

Market data gathered during the fourth quarter of 2009 indicated an interest and demand by enterprises for a process assessment approach focused on an enterprise's use of information and related technology. To build this approach the task force selected ISO/IEC standard 15504. The Process Capability Assessment is based on a two dimensional model, containing a process dimension and a capability dimension.

Alejandro Debenedet - Director of Chapter Relations

Alejandro Debenedet - IEBAlejandro Debenedet has been devoted to IT for more than 25 years starting as a Unix service desk support and C Language programmer. He holds ITIL and ISO 20000 Managers certificates.

Alejandro has actively engaged in ITSM as trainer, consultant, certification, book writer and reviewer, sales and marketing. He is a seasoned ITSM and People Factor speaker and writer.

itSMF International IEB Portfolio Change Announcement

Peter Cross, Director of Chapter Governance, who was elected at the itSMF 2009 elections, has announced his decision to step down from itSMF governing body, the International Executive Board (IEB). After consultation with the IEB Chairman, David Cannon, in June, 2010, his decision has been accepted.

itSMF Global White Paper winner - Available to Download

We are pleased to make the winning whitepaper from the inaugural itSMF Global submissions competition available for download.

The submission (which won the 2009 itSMF UK Best White Paper Submission category) was written by Ian MacDonald of the Co-Operative Finacial Services Organisation.

It is entitled "A simple, low cost but innovative approach to end-to-end service reporting"

itSMF International Whitepaper Competition Results
